Munly J Munly is an exceptional figure on the American country music scene and a member of several seminal bands including Slim Cessna’s Auto Club. His vocals sound like the whispers of demons and his songs are a funeral march for a world without mercy – full of violence, faith, guilt and dust from the church pews. When he picks up the banjo, it’s not for fun – it’s an exorcism. The slow hypnotic county enhances his demonic appearance as a preacher.
