Sondaschule
The German ska-punk band Sondaschule, formed in 1999, is best known for its energetic concerts, catchy brass arrangements, and lyrics full of humor and satire. They debuted with the album Klasse 1A and gradually built a strong position on the German alternative scene. In 2021, everyone was shocked by the death of guitarist Daniel “Blubbi” Junker, but the band decided to continue. Even after more than twenty years, they remain one of the most popular ska-punk bands in Germany.
Swiss und die Andern
This punk-rap band hails from Hamburg and is led by a frontman with the apt name Swiss. The band plays uncompromising crossover, which is an honest mix of punk rock, rap, and sharply pointed left-wing lyrics. Swiss und die Andern became famous with their debut album Schwarz Rot Braun and have since released several successful albums, including Erstmal zu Penny from 2023, which reached number one on the German charts. Their work is political, energetic, and has a strong fan base called “Zecken.”
ZSK
This band doesn’t need much introduction to the Mighty Sounds audience. They have appeared at Mighty several times and always left a well-worn circle pit in their wake. The band was formed in 1997 in Göttingen, Germany, but soon moved to Berlin, where they became an integral part of the local punk scene. They serve up fast and melodic skate punk with lyrics focused on political and social issues such as anti-fascism, anti-racism, and criticism of consumer society. ZSK will celebrate with us!
