The first 7 names for the 20th edition of Mighty Sounds!

Here we go! We are kicking off the excitement for the 20th anniversary edition, and we won’t be holding back.

The first seven bands you can look forward to are NY HC pioneers Agnostic Front, legendary The Exploited making their debut, the tried and tested and always great Talco, the absolute death folk hit from Portland, Bridge City Sinners, German Oi! Oxo86, streepunk band The Chisel, and local cult band Gutalax!

Agnostic Front

The icon of New York hardcore returns for its 20th anniversary! The band was founded in 1980 by Roger Miret and the immortal Vinnie Stigma, and immediately took the scene by storm with their albums Victim in Pain and Cause for Alarm. Their mix of punk rawness and metal aggression defined the genre and still rocks clubs around the world today. No posing, just pure hardcore, hard, loud paint – we are glad that Agnostic Front will once again rock the airport in Tábor at the 20th anniversary.

The Exploited

The Scottish punk storm has been rocking the world since 1979. This will be their first ever appearance at the Mighty Sounds festival, so we are delighted that it will be at this anniversary edition. The band is fronted by the unmistakable Wattie, and their albums are pure energetic chaos. Their concerts are legendary, raw, and uncompromising.

Talco

Venice is not just a city full of tourists and canals full of gondolas. It is also the city where this Italian ska punk band comes from. Talco mixes heavy guitar riffs with powerful brass anthems, all complemented by strongly critical lyrics. As festival visitors already know, their energetic mix of punk, ska, and folk melodies gets everyone moving, which is why Talco is a must-see at the 20th anniversary of the festival.

Bridge City Sinners

Another band added to the lineup of the 20th annual Mighty Sounds festival is a great group from Oregon, USA. Bridge City Sinners define themselves as folk music that your grandparents won’t like. The band plays dark and spooky folk punk, which is interesting mainly thanks to the combination of acoustic instruments with punk wildness, gothic aesthetics, and a spooky atmosphere. Bridge City Sinners are a cabaret for lost souls that is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Oxo86

The Berlin band Oxo86 will also be performing in the Czech Republic for the first time ever. Oxo86 plays a powerful mix of ska and punk, full of humor and perspective. Their concerts are renowned parties, full of distinctive brass melodies, catchy tunes, and lyrics that definitely don’t pull any punches.

The Chisel

This young London punk band got together in 2020. With their epic mix of oi!, hardcore, and street punk with great melodies, Chisel’s music exudes pure and unadulterated Britain and its typical lyrics. This band is like another piece of the puzzle fitting into the genre explosion of the new DIY wave of oi!

Gutalax

The leading gore grind band from South Bohemia is famous for its concerts in white protective suits, during which toilet paper flies through the air, outhouses crowd surf above people’s heads, and every mosh pit turns into one big “fecal” party. Gutalax are well known to Mighty Sounds visitors, and they definitely cannot be missed at the 20th anniversary.
