Dave Hause & The Mermaid is a live band led by Dave Hause that infuses his solo work with the energy of a full-fledged rock concert. Their sound lies somewhere between heartland rock and punk aggression, with echoes of The Gaslight Anthem, The Replacements, or Bruce Springsteen, yet they still maintain their own distinct style. They are currently drawing from their album *Drive It Like It’s Stolen*, which is more straightforward, raw in places, and yet surprisingly melodic. The lyrics tackle everyday reality—relationships, burnout, and small glimmers of hope—without pathos, but rather with down-to-earth honesty. Dave Hause & The Mermaid’s strongest suit, however, is their live shows: brilliantly performed with maximum intensity, full of raw emotion.
